​General Terms & Conditions

1. We reserve the right to change these Trading Terms from time to time without prior notice to you, provided that any such change will not affect any purchases you have made before the change is implemented.

2. Orchard Funeral Services complies fully with the Data Protection Act 1998. We respect the confidential nature of the information given to us, and where you provide us with personal data, we will ensure that the data will be held securely, in confidence and processed for the purpose of carrying out our services. To help us provide our services, we may need to pass such data to third parties and those third parties, who are performing some of the services for you, may contact you directly. Under the Act, you have the right to know what data we hold on you and can, by applying to us in writing and paying a fee, receive copies of that data.

3. Our Code of Practice requires that we provide a high-quality service in all aspects. If however, you have any questions or concerns about the service we provide to you, please raise them in the first instance with an official representative of Orchard Funeral Services.

4. All dates and times provided cannot be guaranteed until final bookings are made and confirmed.

5. Although we endeavour to provide a prompt and efficient service for you, there may be instances where, because of circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to fulfill our obligations to you on the date or time specified. Where this is the case, we will attempt to contact you in advance, using the details provided and advise you of alternative arrangements.

 

The Orchard Burial Ground

1. It is important that we maintain the natural beauty of the Orchard burial ground and we restrict certain memorabilia. Please talk with us and discuss your needs.

   1. Only biodegradable flowers and tributes are permitted to be left at the Orchard Burial Ground

   2. New trees can only be planted at the Orchard Burial Ground following permission from an official or appointed representative and consultation here of, of Orchard Funeral Services. Planting a tree incurs a charge to be discussed during the consultation.

   3. Any ornaments or tributes that do not fall in line with Orchard Funeral Services ‘nature friendly’ policies will be removed from the site.

   4. Under no circumstances can a burial or scattering of ashes take place without first seeking the permission of Orchard Funeral Services.

 

 Prices & Payments

1. Our price includes; our professional charges, completing all necessary legal and administrative arrangements, collecting and transporting the deceased from the place of death into our care, care of the deceased person before the funeral,

   1. If the funeral is a burial; burial plot, grave digging and reinstatement, a traditional veneered coffin, transport of the deceased to the funeral, a funeral celebrant.

   2. If the funeral is a cremation; all cremation and associated medical fees, a traditional veneered coffin, transport of the deceased to the funeral, a funeral celebrant (at an accompanied cremation).

2. There might be factors that affect the price, such as; a funeral held at a weekend, the provision of a different coffin, a traditional hearse and limousines, an increase in the costs we incur.

3. Prices may change at any time prior to (but not after) acceptance of your order.

   1. In the unlikely event that the price of an item has been incorrectly advertised on our Site, we will contact you by email or telephone to ask whether you wish to proceed with the order at the correct price. If you are not happy to proceed, or we are unable to obtain your instructions, we will cancel the order.

4. Unless otherwise agreed, the full cost of any funeral must be paid in full before the event takes place.
